Definitions for "Cut-off Date"
The date that determines whether a preference immigrant visa applicant can be scheduled for an immigrant visa interview in any given month. The cut-off date is the priority date of the first applicant who could not get a visa interview for a given month. Applicants with a priority date before or earlier than the cut-off date can be scheduled. However, if your priority date is later (comes after) the cut-off date, you will need to wait longer, until your priority date is reached (becomes current).
Deadline for BNY to receive ADR votes (during the proxy solicitation process) or dividend election cards (where the ADR holder is given the option to receive a cash or stock dividend). ADR votes returned to BNY after the cut-off date will be tabulated. Where a dividend election card is received after the cut-off date, the ADR holder will receive its dividend according to a default specified in the dividend election card.
A date set by the HA for each claim type by which claims must be received in order to meet the next payment for that claim type.
