Crowland (modern usage) or Croyland (medieval era name and the one still in ecclesiastical use) is a village and civil parish in Lincolnshire, England, positioned between Peterborough and Spalding, with two major sites of historical interest. One is the unique fourteenth Century three-sided bridge, Trinity Bridge, which stands at its central point, the confluence of three rivers, the other is its ruined medieval Croyland Abbey, founded by St Guthlac in the eighth century. The Croyland Chronicle, an important source for medieval historians, is believed to be the work of one of the monastery's inhabitants.
