Editing that alternates shots of two or more lines of action occurring in different places, usually simultaneously.
An editing technique; two events occur simultaneously to enable the viewer to see what is happening. This is accomplished by cutting these sequences into their components (back and forth) to allow an anticipatory action to come to a conclusion. A technique used by the film maker to bring to closure a tension filled a climatic act.
