The earnings from continuing operations reported by the company divided by the diluted weighted average number of common shares outstanding. This excludes income from discontinued operations and extraordinary gains/losses. This is a reported figure and is based on the Financial Accounting Standards Board (FASB) Statement 128 issued in 1997.
