The point where two or more rivers meet.
A pattern of air flow in which wind direction converges along an axis oriented parallel to the flow along the axis. Considered a form of convergence. The opposite of diffluence.
the point where two rivers flow together
Point where one stream flows into another.
a place where two rivers join
(Confluens sinuum, torcular herophili): An area where the dural venous sinuses (superior sagittal, straight sinus, right and left transverse sinuses) converge near the internal occipital protuberance.
a junction where two rivers or streams meet
The location at which two streams intersect and begin to flow as one larger stream.
place where two rivers come together.
The place at which two streams flow together to form one larger stream.
a place where things merge or flow together (especially rivers); "Pittsburgh is located at the confluence of the Allegheny and Monongahela rivers"
a coming together of people
a point where a latitude and longitude line meet
The flowing together of two or more streams; the place where a tributary joins the main stream.
A pattern of wind flow in which winds converge along an axis oriented parallel to the flow along the axis; a form of convergence. Compare with difluence.
The point where two streams flow together.
A meeting of two or more streams or rivers.
Where two or more streams meet and begin flowing together.
The area where two or more rivers come together to form one river.
In CRiSP.1, a point where two upstream flows combine to create the flow downstream of the point.
A rate at which wind flow comes together along an axis oriented normal to the flow in question. The opposite of diffluence.
Where one river joins another.
a pattern of wind flow in which air flows inward toward an axis oriented parallel to the general direction of flow; the opposite of difluence. Confluence is not the same as convergence.
The junction of two or more RIVER reaches or branches (the opposite of a BIFURCATION).
the junction of two rivers or forks of a river.
The combining of two streams.
The place where two or more streams flow together.
The flowing together of two or more water bodies.
The rate at which adjacent flow is converging along an axis oriented normal to the flow at the point in question. It is the opposite of diffluence. In natural coordinates the confluence may be measured by where is the speed of the wind, the axis is oriented 90° clockwise from the direction of the wind vector, is the wind component in the direction, and ψ is the wind direction, measured in degrees clockwise from the reference direction.
Confluence, in geography, describes the meeting of two or more bodies of water. It usually refers to the point where a tributary joins a more major river. The German city name Koblenz indicates, in Germanicized form, its site at the confluence of the Rhine and the Mosel.
