Chartfields are the individual fields or components that make up your chart of accounts in PeopleSoft. Each Chartfield contains information that defines a transaction in terms of responsible party, fund source and function of entity. University of Alberta: In the PeopleSoft applications, the chart of account field is referred to as a chartfield. Chartfields are used to manage, categorize and classify accounting and budgetary transactions.
