Closed ircuit ele ision. A television system that is normally connected together with wire that can normally be viewed by a limited number of people as apposed to Broadcast TV (or cable TV, satellite TV etc.) that is intended for a wide audience. Wireless systems with limited range for a limited audience are also considered CCTV.

Closed circuit television
A CCTV uses a camera, either hand-held or fixed, to magnify text and display it on a monitor. Often used to enlarge text, images and diagrams for pupils who have visual impairment.

CCTV systems usually involve analog cameras that connect to a television system or recorder. The signals are not publicaly distributed but are limited to a small area such as a store, office building, warehouse or school.
