Relative frequency of different diagnoses or conditions among patients.
The term refers to the number and type of patients treated and the mix of bundles of treatments, procedures and so on provided to patients.  In general it is the use of resources in treating patients that is the key to understanding casemix as a measure of hospital output and activities.
