Most renowned compiler of the traditions of the Prophet Muhammad [pbuh]. Muhammad B. Isma‘il Abu ‘Abd Allah Al-Ju‘fi Al-Bukhari, born on 21st July 810 C.E. at Bukhara.

Al-Bukhari or just Bukhari is an Arabic nesbat, meaning "from Bukhara", the old Transoxiana location of what is today Uzbekistan. It is usually added at the end of names as a specifier. The most known Al-Bukhari is Muhammad Ibn Ismail al-Bukhari, the Sunni scholar.
