a channel of water that flows between two land formations; the channels which run between the mangrove cayes in the Drowned Cayes: e.g. Sugar Bogue, Bannister Bogue, Hushner Bogue.
To fall off from the wind; to edge away to leeward; -- said only of inferior craft.
A long, round fish (cylindrical) fish, with large eyes, silver-grey colored back, fine horizontal dull gold lines and an off-white belly. It weighs up to about 600 grams. Small and medium sized bogue are either fried or grilled. Larger ones are boiled or oven baked with onions, garlic and tomatoes.
