Definitions for "Blockmodel"
is an aggregated sociomatrix representation of a network. A blockmodel is created from an elemental sociomatrix data base by (i) partitioning the entities into discrete subsets, called "blocking," and (ii) assigning 0/1 ties between each pair of blocked subsets ( White, Boorman and Breiger, 1976; Holland and Leinhardt, 1979).
