In its original sense, consisted of "Sunset" and Oregonia Members, representing deep subtidal and shallow subtidal facies of the C4 sequence. Overlies the Mount Auburn Formation, and is overlain by Waynesville Formation. Used in traditional system in Ohio, Indiana, and northern Kentucky.
