Ararat (Armenian: ) is one of the provinces (marz) of Armenia with capital in Artashat. It is in the south of the country, bordering Turkey and Azerbaijan's Nakhichevan Autonomous Republic to its west and south. It surrounds the Karki exclave of Nakhichevan which has been controlled by Armenia since its capture in May 1992 during the Nagorno-Karabakh War.
Ararat is a 2002 film by Atom Egoyan about the Armenian Genocide, an event that is denied by the government of Turkey. In addition to exploring the human impact of the specific historical event, the film also examines the nature of truth and its representation through art.
Ararat is an Armenian brandy exclusively produced by the Yerevan Brandy Company since 1887. It is made from selected Caucasian wines and spring water according to traditional methods combined with the finest selection of grapes from the Ararat Valley in Armenia. "Ordinary Brandies", aged for 3, 4, 5, and 6 years ensured the merited fame of the Ararat Brandy.
