Definitions for "Anycast"
A method available in IPv6 of sending information over a network. It allows a device to send data to the nearest (fastest) of a group of receivers.
Anycast is a network addressing and routing scheme whereby data is routed to the "nearest" or "best" destination as viewed by the routing topology.
A one packet to one from a list of hosts; similar to a broadcast or multicast but the goal is to have exactly one response. See also broadcast, multicast, unicast.
