An extract of the Aloe Vera Plant, Aloe Vera Gel has its own vitamins, minerals and enzymes and contains lignin, which acts as a carrier. It has excellent hydrating, softening and soothing properties, and helps build collagen in the skin. Aloe Vera Gel is reported to prevent immune suppression of accessory cell function in skin caused by UVB by repairing damage to epidermal Langerhans cells. Also present in the gel are salicylic acid and carboxypeptidase, responsible in part for its anti-inflammatory properties.
